| While Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are an excellent team, which bombed in this film, but good. How about grumpy Lemmon in this film? The prequel was much better. Ann Guilbert, Sophia Loren as the mother, is given little to do. Remember that as the grandmother of "The Nanny?" Sophia Loren, except Matthau marriage is also like nothing to do. Ditto for Ann-Margret, Darryl Hannah and Kevin Pollak, all of which were so well in the original, but are reduced to practically nothing here. Matthau also bothers me that shows a part of Jewish heritage to marry in a church at the end. I found this to be offensive. Sorry, but I am so outdated. To all those who criticize me for the last statement, how they felt if the Matthau-Loren nuptials took place in a synagogue? While I realize that this was a comedy, this still left me with a bad taste in my mouth. A priest would not have been the only solution to this. |
| "Grumpier Old Men" is the sequel to the entertaining "Grumpy Old Men." Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau return as John and Max, the neighbors for a long time in this Grumpier Old Men Comedy movie have reconciled their friendship. Ann-Margret returns as Ariel, the new wife of John. This is Burgess Meredith as Lemmon's dad cornea, and also returned Åre Kevin Pollak and Daryl Hannah as the daughter of Lemmon and Matthau's son who now are devoted to each other and their parents to help them plan their wedding with some strange ideas . But the real scene stealer in "Grumpier Old Men" is Sophia Loren as the beautiful women in the new Italian Wabasha, Minnesota. Loren plans to convert the grumpy old man's beloved bait shop into a 'restaurant' she said. The grumps who do not like one bit and try to drive out of town, but ends up falling Matthau. It's great to see Loren have a chance to do comedy, and it receives its share of big laughs throughout the film. | This Grumpier Old Men film happens to be another delivery of an endearingly hilarious story. The chemistry between Mr. Matthau and Lemmon has been evident since his early days in "Odd Couple" and seems to have gotten even better in the years ahead. The performance is excellent, flawless direction, the entire cast is phenomenal and with the addition of "Mary" and her mother simply complete the whole story to make a whale of a good time. The innate beauty of Ms. Margret and Ms. Loren is timeless. Burgess Meredith was the role of the intensification of its earlier, as the cynical views openly aspiring Lothario, lol, a resounding success for a gentleman of his longevity, it still brings out famous. There are some really hilarious joke between him and Maria's mother "Mama Ragetti" I laughed out loud. I must confess, I laughed out loud at many of the scenes in this film, I can not even begin to count them. There is a real synergy in this film, a collection of moments of comedy. I can not imagine how someone who does not enjoy this movie. I "hooked" ... |
