| Good Lord! Cassanova really was a historical figure who knew many of the Illuminati of their time. He was known for a lot of things (including the invention of the national lottery in France), not only womanizer - memories of which may have been influenced by the age at which he wrote his memoirs. This piece of bad HollyMush has nothing to do with cassanova, but sort of Don Juan is like the story - wrong. Why even call it cassanova, then? Not allowed to subvert the real story. (I Betcha cassanova also "a real American" and all of Italy is "really in California, too!) True cassanova is quite fascinating, and there is a true story of the participation of passion, a real flight, between wicked life and upper classes of Europe. |
| I just saw Casanova. I have read most of the comments here before I went to see and frankly I was on my way to relinquish it. I had fun. I laughed and enjoyed it. One thing though: this is a comedy. If you are in a search or historical, accurate description of the famous Casanova, then you are in the wrong direction. Some people here said Jeremy Irons ... more action? Come on .. give the credit it deserves as a great player he is. He was enjoying his role. I could almost see him laughing on the set after the director yells cut! The only dramatic moment toward the end of the DivX Movie Casanova seemed to be there only to reinforce the image after the comedy. Sienna Miller seems a bit difficult for me in the beginning with the speech at the University .. I loved the costumes and settings. Definitely makes you think of buying a ticket to Venice. (New!) Sensual? 10% love story? Comedy 40%? The rest. So I say, if you are in the mood for something light, give it a chance and laughter:) And we agreed to disagree, shall we? |
| I saw the DivX film Casanova earlier this week with friends in a preview. Surprisingly there was a large crowd. However, that was not the only surprise. The movie: Casanova itself was a surprise. Heath Ledger, is not as handsome as ever, it was fun, however, as Casanova. Oliver Platt has some physical risks in this role - if partial nudity is considered a risk to a man Platt's size and shape. All my friends who enjoy the film. I was not expecting the Casanova film to be a ride! It was a great success to be fun! I attach to Verdi's Don Giovanni. There is even the comic relief of the lower Leperello. The plot has a few surprises, and everyone in the film: Casanova has a good time, except perhaps for Jeremy Irons. Lots of fun! |
