This is remarkable stuff. It has the normal amount of silliness, but the discrimination that this series is the concept of school girls. Its absolutely incredible what they have done with this notion. The school is a school for girls that destroys all the places you visit. Lots of jokes: reports from Paris that was scandalized by these girls. The idea is that half of these "girls" are adult women with an average gain miniskirts and beams. Most of the outrageous behavior (which we never see) is supposed to be sexual in nature. Oh, there's a plot about stolen jewels and a prince looking for a girlfriend. But the story is purely there as an excuse to parade around these girls. And these are tough broads. Beat people. Ted's Evaluation - 1 of 3: You can find something better to do with this part of his life. |
In the days before political correctness reared its ugly head, the children were boys and girls and girls, and ne'er the twain should meet - with the exception of St. Trinian's where the girls were boys, at least behavior, and girls were rather pretty big in the case of Sabrina voluptuous. The main characters are all well drawn with a splendid supporting cast and all very British. Alastair Sim is perfect as the director, George Cole was the Cockney Geezer, Joyce Grenfell never rejected the police, while Eric Barker as Culpepper Brown and Richard Bassett Wattis as truly excellent archetype of the ministers of education. As for Terry-Thomas - well? Even a coach driver could be elegant in those days! What stiff upper lip, including the St. Trinian aboard. All good clean fun that the family arriving at the local cinema audiences. What a pity that do not show the Blue Murder at St. Trinian's Comedy film of its kind on television because the pace for modern space junk entertainment. |
Not the strongest in the DivX Movie Blue Murder at St. Trinian's "St. Trinians series, but enjoyable for fans of the mid-50s, British comedy. Tends at times to the antics, especially the scene where the police are looking for a diamond thief - a lift from `The Pirates of Penzance." Caste is the cream of British comedy at the time. Two entries: a young George Cole, who was to make a career of playing cockney spivs and Joyce Grenfell as Sergeant Ruby Gates. The latter is a standout performance. Joyce Grenfell must surely be one of the best female comedians of all time and the DVD film Blue Murder at St. Trinian's is worth seeing for his performance alone. |
"The Fine St Trinian's" was difficult to follow, so it is not surprising that this film: Blue Murder at St. Trinian's does not even try. Apart from brief appearances in the tail and upper Alistair Sim as Miss Fritton, is left to the character actor Lionel Jeffries to take the mantle of lead and girls in the glory, namely the marriage of George Cole office trying to find a foreign partner for a prince in Rome. Familiar faces are back - Joyce Grenfell, Richard Wattis - along with Terry-Thomas, Terry Scott, Kenneth Griffith, and other big names from the scene of the 1950 comedy. The girls are just as messy as ever, and there is a good time as Dame Judith Furze Maud, the head of the unfortunate replacement worst school girls in the world! Blue Murder at St Trinian flag, at times, but some pieces are very funny, and one can sympathize with the Ministry of Education and its need to appease the pills! |
