| This is the second largest "after running free of films I've ever seen. Two great actors Dustin Hoffman and Steve McQueen are able to present disappointment, joy, loyalty, patience, hope, madness, friendship and depression perfectly. Every single scene in the photo has a lot of things to say to you. You can get emotionally confused to see this movie, maybe even a little sense of friendship or love between prison guards and prisoners, and at the same time be able to feel the irrational hatred. | Excellent movie. Entertaining and realistic. Although the promotion indicated that this was another version of "The Great Escape", the film, and Steve McQueen, avoided what would have been a fatal pratfall - 1962 DVD movie Papillon remake of war prisoners of war with different costumes. In fact, this was an excellent Papillon movie that was on its own merits (despite the fact that historians say the story is not true) is an excellent representation of the French penal colony in Guana. McQueen was a great, even without the title role. Dustin Hoffman was his usual excellent actor, making the most out of their role. McQueen wisely avoided playing himself, and as a result, his role was stronger and more credible. General situation of the plot and scenes were excellent. Outstanding film. |
