| Personally, this is one of the most moving films I've seen. The performance is excellent, both Al Pacino and John Cazale deliver outstanding performances and memorable as the bank robbers Wortzik inexperienced Sonny and Sal I highlight the evening's performance of John Cazale Sal, a character who says more with his face what he does with dialogue. Perhaps the most realistic character portrayed in the DivX film Dog Day Afternoon ever. Al Pacino as always offers great performance and was nominated for an Academy Award in the role of Sonny. This is a very entertaining movie, full of humor, social and moral issues, no doubt a must-see. |
| Wow! Sure the seventies were a great decade, just look at all the movies that fought for an Oscar in 1975 to have a good idea about it! This Dog Day Afternoon Thriller has everything anyone could want in a great movie: a good script, but the story is based on real events, great direction (Lumet knows how to deal with stressful situations as it had already demonstrated in his debut 12 Angry Men movie), great acting (Pacino in its splendor, even better than The Godfather, Part I). The pace is very good: it is very nervous and the camera moves a lot in the first third of the film, but then everything seems to melt into a living, and the slow movement tensionate suggests very well the whole situation as bank robbery hand that was supposed to be fast and events become a hostage situation that is difficult and tensionate. The issue of homosexuality was well treated, not in any way preaching, understanding and consideration, everything was much better than any politically correct point of view that we can find in movies today. The movie: Dog Day Afternoon is difficult to put into a single genre, is essentially a tragedy of those rejected (Sonny is a veteran, a homosexual, an unemployed, and at the end of a pariah in the film), but starts as a thriller and elements of social satire touches (the family angle, the issue of police corruption and incompetence, etc.), comedy and even absurd. This is a DivX Movie Dog Day Afternoon that I will certainly see as soon as possible! |
| Pending examination of character that is unique, interesting, unconventional and definitely very cool in every way. Dim-ingenious two robbers (Oscar nominee Al Pacino and the late John Cazale) decide to rob a bank in New York City on a summer day in the early 1970s. The theft has been cut and dried, but nothing goes as planned. Instead of eliminating a lot of money, there is only a small amount that the money was transported in the previous day. As Pacino tries to save the bank, shows a small fire outside the bank, and total chaos. Now the bank is surrounded by the police and the FBI. Charles Durning and James Broderick are among the officers outside the bank in its attempt to negotiate with Pacino for bank employees in safety. Pacino learned that are involved in a homosexual relationship with Chris Sarandon (Oscar nominated) and that its main objective was to steal their share of the money Sarandon for a sex change operation. Cazal nervous is worried that the media believes that he is homosexual than anything else. The Dog Day Afternoon Thriller is dark in many ways, very happy and fun in other ways, but always dramatic and tense. As the clock, is the realization that this will not end well for the thieves. Sidney Lumet's Oscar nominations is strong in every way. Based on real events, "Dog Day Afternoon" is another big winner of the 1970's, Hollywood, the second golden age. 5 of 5 stars. |
| I saw this movie: Dog Day Afternoon for me and Al Pacino is at his best! The DVD movie Dog Day Afternoon has a very simple premise, two men robbed a bank, but not everything that can go wrong. At first the women working at the bank are afraid, but once the situation in a more secondary, some women feel comfortable with the situation. Basically, the entire DVD movie Dog Day Afternoon is in the bank and all sorts of comedy and drama surrounds it. This is Al Pacino at the beginning of his career and for anyone who has not seen the film, I definitely recommend it. Just bear in mind the madness of all those seen in the DVD film Dog Day Afternoon is a true story, and very entertaining! |
| 'Day Afternoon Dog "tells the true story of Sonny (Al Pacino) and Sal (John Cazale). These two guys went to a bank in 1972 in Brooklyn to steal. It could have been in five minutes, but things went terribly wrong. Instead of a robbery turned into a hostage situation. A circus and the media too. From the first second to be totally in the film. After I write my review and I was not able to remember what it was like music, if any. It says something about how much the Dog Day Afternoon film grabs you. The first part is very funny, I laughed a lot of times. The second part is a drama and a thriller. Great director Sidney Lumet creates a certain atmosphere of the Dog Day Afternoon Thriller film is quite good. Pacino in one of his best performances is surrounded by a great supporting cast. He was nominated for an Oscar, but did not win it. Lost to a guy named Jack Nicholson in a movie: Dog Day Afternoon called 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. "The chances were probably fifty-fifty to the Oscar for best DVD movie Dog Day Afternoon was, I have to admit that. However, one of the best performances I've ever seen. Any other actor in this Dog Day Afternoon Thriller film was a good thing, it is a big one. |
| Here is now a "classic" that still remains very interesting, once again, with Al Pacino intense action and some humor mixed with a history of tense crime. I think for the first time viewers still enjoy this Dog Day Afternoon film as much as the theater, the audience did when I first saw more than 30 years. This was supposedly a true act of life that makes it even more interesting. The only condition that would give parents is blasphemy is a little rough at times, especially with Charles Durning, the negotiation of police using the name of the Lord in vain on every other sentence. All other characters were definitely interesting, especially partner Pacino "Sal" (John Cazale). "Sal" has very little to say, only the appearance of his face say a lot. History is indeed a memorable experience and a great success when he left. Notes: The "Sheldon" is played by James Broderick, the father of Matthew Broderick. Casale died a few years after this DVD movie Dog Day Afternoon was made. |
| I can not believe it took me so long to see this film.It is one of, if not the best Dog Day Afternoon Thriller movie I've watched.From the first five minutes of the last scene in the world is hooked.Hooked Sonny (Al Pacino) and Sal (John Cazale). can not help but feel badly for the first time these thugs, who try to rob a bank, but all goes wrong.This is a fun movie, sad emotion infuriating ride.Pacino gives his best performance. This is the only Dog Day Afternoon film I've rated 10 / 10 and probably the last.Sonny attempts to rob the bank to pay for gay sex lovers of their operation (That's right bisexual) and goes along for Sal the ride.Sal is more of a loose cannon then Sonny.Poor Sonny tries to please everyone, from within the bank tellers, to Sal, his lover, wife and children and even the DVD movie Dog Day Afternoon leaves you almost crying from laughter cops.This scenes . This is a must see film: Dog Day Afternoon for a real Dog Day Afternoon Thriller buff, or Pacino fan.Go now and rent if you have not seen the film: Dog Day Afternoon brilliant it.A whew! |
