| I was 20 in 1978, and saw the opening of this weekend. I knew nothing of him, and after growing up in the old Hammer films, followed by a period of almost anything, this was a very pleasant surprise. It really worked! I took control of the rear seat in the car, gave me a sinking feeling when I lost my keys, etc. The low number of deaths and the relative lack of blood, compared with later Slasher movies, I really admired the effectiveness with which created the atmosphere and suspense kept me on the edge and made me jump in the right places. This Halloween Horror of the series of bars for the rest of the slashers to follow on Friday as 13 and Prom Night.
