| One of the best. Brilliantly acted, very good scene, the scene in Redneck bar and the scene where the boss has a tantrum after losing the infamous incident of buses are best. The head is excellent. The way that delivers these lines with their anger, and the lines are very hard. "F *** YOU YOU GO convict!" is my favorite of the entire film. The look on Eddie's face is priceless. Just shows how the kind of player he is, if proof be needed. Redneck bars is equally good. The band's music fits the game pretty scenario. The stripper dance adds to the value of the scene as well. She is very good. A flawless film, Eddie Murphy better too in my opinion. |
| This is an impressive "Buddy" Buddy "Flick and one of the best!. It is not dated at all, although there has been a lot of" Buddy "friend films since then, it's all very entertaining, and Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy had amazing chemistry together!. James Remar and Sonny Landham are quite menacing as the main villains, as well, Nick Nolte, Eddie Murphy and a lot of time laughing out loud!. The end is pretty funny "Reggie My Light" and the story was very good as well.The Direction is great!. Walter Hill does a great job here, no luxury, but does a great job keeping the 48 Hrs. film very well. There is a little blood but we all have is a good number of very bloody gunshot wounds. He is great!. Nick Nolte here is awesome, has awesome chemistry with Eddie Murphy, and although his character was rough, gruff and grumpy, i still rioja are very nice! impressive work. Eddie Murphy is great here, he is pleasant and enjoyable as ever, also had great chemistry with Nolte, and does what he does best!, big-screen debut!. Annette O'Toole , does well here, and it is beautiful, but there is not much to do at all. James Remar is great as the main villain, and was very threatening. Sonny Landham, is very good here, was threatening and James does what he well.Brion to do. We must see a general! for fans of "friend" Buddy movies (like me) 5 **** |
| Nick Nolte plays Jack Cates, a nervous, taciturn, and the world-weary police detective in San Francisco temporarily paroles young convict Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) to Hammond can help you capture the psychotic murderer and robber Albert Ganz (James Remar). One of the first and best "match-partners" police movies of all time, this is slick, funny, violent and vigorous. Nolte and Murphy make a good team. Murphy is especially funny, making his debut feature film, as a good partner who is desperate to have sex before he has to return to prison. The scene where Hammond shakes things in a Redneck bar is certainly one of the best scenes of the film. It really is a good cast (unfortunately, Annette O'Toole, Cates as long-suffering girlfriend, who has nothing important to do) that includes some of the actors who worked with director / co-writer Walter Hill fairly regularly. Many of the "mal-partners" police movies released since this one can not compare (with the exception of the "Lethal Weapon" movies, in my opinion). 8 / 10 |
