| Just got back from a show in Houston St. in New York City last night and of course, like everyone else, I was there to see some real sex and a little internal chuckle. That lasted all of two minutes as Shortbus established as an art about sex, but not the fundamentals of relations and the founding of the center. I had to say about ourselves lover was brilliant and the message that being happy in a relationship for almost nothing to do with the other person. It's all about our own happiness first. Nobody can make us happy. That is a gift we give ourselves. After getting the real life in these people and their leaders, you see that sex is nothing. It is only the skin in contact with the skin that lasts a lot of minutes. The complex human interaction that is shared and not shared by the other 98% of their time together was impressive. Incorporating actions, inspired leadership, incredible special effects and a script makes this sublime sophisticated yarn adults one of the best of the year. If you're mature enough to handle, I recommend it wholeheartedly. I think it is an honest, challenging masterpiece complex comprising human emotion better than any Shortbus movie in recent history. |
| Brilliant writing and direction by John Cameron Mitchell (who gave us "Hedwig"), and great acting by all, especially Justin Bond, Lindsay Beamish, Paul Dawson and PJ Deboy. Great musical numbers too! You laugh and mourn, and leave wanting to see again immediately. Much has been made a few rather well-lit and intimate sex scenes, but if someone over 16 can not handle them, he or she should not go out at night. It is ultimately all wonderful and one of the great revelations of the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, where audiences tend to be impressed Snotty and conspicuously - but the screening of this movie: Shortbus was followed by parades and celebrations in the streets with people with stars on his shoulders, like they did with the opening night of Verdi in Milan. Lynne Cheney, pornographer who is crafty, eat your heart to someone who has finally come to the real g-spot of the cosmos, and it was not what she did. Love can be sad sometimes, a kind of Kansas, but Mitchell became technicolor. Like magic. |
| First and foremost I am a "right" so the men often let this cloud my review of this DVD movie Shortbus ... I found this movie: Shortbus difficult to watch sometimes, but the fact that it was toted as a "real" sexuality in my best interest first. I thought I knew what I was getting myself on my own, but also prejudices were shot to hell for this. If you have a problem with the interactions of 2 or more of the same sex, this is NOT the film: Shortbus for you ... But if you can keep an open mind then it may be something that can give you an idea of the homosexual culture. Like most people who had sex in one form or another already on the screen, but it was something that was a screenplay ... This film: Shortbus is as real as you can get without seeing it live I think that would best complement .... But not everything out there just throwing people into sex and Shortbus Drama film it. There are deeper issues that deals with John Cameron Mitchell, as the fear of not being loved as you once were by their partner, trying to reach orgasm that many women may have only one problem and find true love ... . As I said about the remains of cars, even though the DVD movie Shortbus made me incredibly uncomfortable, I found myself trying to open my mind to other things so I kept looking back at the Shortbus movie to see what that is the message trying to be portrayed to those with a closed mind ... |
| What a pathetic, unoriginal, attempting attempt to "discover" and "explain" human sexuality (do not forget the quotes). The movie: Shortbus aims to make his audience uncomfortable with ambiguity, as if somehow this movement means that we must learn to think differently. But we do not. We are ashamed that people treat sex as a commodity. And that is what ultimately the Shortbus movie succeeds. Sex is something in the sale-in, players can (this is important now sex is like any other action of an actor on stage false) and, ultimately, banal. What makes sex boring to talk about it again and again and again. And what is even worse than portraying this as if to "explain" something? Hedwig was original and great ... this is tripe. Shame on you (and that New England Puritan attitude as far as you want). |
