| U.S. Senator and presidential candidate John McCain on the history of his five and a half years in Vietnamese prison camp as a prisoner of war said here. Most members of the cast are not well known, but they all play very well in this set. The DVD film Faith of My Fathers is not better to show the brutality of war and the humanity that sometimes falls. The actor who plays John McCain as the wounded soldier does a brilliant job in portraying it as a complex but pleasant companions. History offers a fund with respect to its complex relationship with his father John, a man of high military rank and the family's military history. We only see a mother, Roberta, and hear his reaction to his son can not return home when his plane was shot down. The same scene for his wife and mother of his three children is also shown. We also see how he met his first wife, Carol. The five and a half years is well documented as a painful, violent and inhumane at times, but built in the character of John to protect his squad, and they stay instead of going home early that afternoon. I could not bear to leave his men who became his friends behind. This Faith of My Fathers movie is about politics but a man's battle to survive with broken limbs, but not a broken heart. |
| FAITH OF MY FATHERS tells the true story of John McCain's military service, the capture and imprisonment in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Almost all of this made for TV film: Faith of My Fathers was shot with a handheld camera so the theater is close and personal. The pace is good, despite the commercials tend to interrupt more than half. He was the highlight of this production. The unknown actor John McCain really captures its essence. About the only thing that does not work in my parents' faith was the Peeping shower scene. Is misplaced and not advance the story. Curiously, the conflict in FAITH OF MY FATHER - Vietnam Communist captors against American prisoners of war - no longer has water as Vietnam today is primarily known for being the bright new Asian destination. All of the torture of John McCain and his fellow soldiers was ultimately for nothing. The heroic resistance of American prisoners was also useless. How John McCain can run for President again, war crimes shows the FE DE MI PADRE is connected to the current Iraqi prisoner abuse. A president John McCain, a torture victim of the Vietnam War, to the approval of torture and rape proxy trained dogs currently used against Iraqi prisoners of war today? FAITH OF MY FATHER is a fitting companion piece to the 1987 HANOI HILTON - another drama focuses on the daily suffering, torture and brutal treatment American POWs in North Vietnam prison Hoa Lo. If I am not mistaken, John McCain is a technical adviser HANOI HILTON. Very interesting. |
| This Faith of My Fathers War movie appeals to viewers who are either a military or military related. It is a story of what people suffer at the hands of the enemy, without taking into account that the enemy is (the roles reverse and you have the Iraqi prison scandal). War is not sterile or "cool." Anger, frustration and desperation of those involved in its day to day actions are explained in this film. One commentator found in the Admiral's mistakes (Glenn's father) the lack of emotion. As an experienced military, the emotions are things that the professional soldier put on hold until the matter in issue has been resolved. This story is not a warm and fuzzy. McCain suffered for years what most people in the U.S. can not endure for a week. We are quick to jump on the representation of events and history, but also to criticize those of us who have served this country in times of conflict can only say that the shoes were on my feet, I have the temerity and strength to withstand this storm? McCain, unlike the current commander in chief, a war hero and this movie: Faith of My Fathers does justice to it, the U.S. Military Honor Code and defending our military tradition. |
| Faithful biography of the life that is Senator John McCain as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. Coming from a strict military family, McCain is able to weather the storm in childbirth and the brutality of North Vietnam during the conflict. A student in the weakness of the academy, McCain is backed by his father, a very good performance by Scott Glenn. Glenn portrays a totally dedicated military officer who did not even stir an eyelid when informed that his son has been captured. The torture chambers and torture of McCain and others is well demonstrated. McCain is certainly the picture as a hero in this film. He refused to be released if it meant having to engage in propaganda for North Vietnam. A very good story about the military honor, call to duty and patriotism for our eternal men and women in uniform. |
| I expected more from a production of A & E, and I found the lack of budget. Having seen other productions of A & E, I found some producers to cut corners with high levels of previous A & E TV series. The faith of my parents has an excellent message about the character and excellence. I believe that my education, work and my sick wife in the DVD movie Faith of My Fathers is inspiring. It is a shame for me not feeling sorry for myself. The story has no stains. I have never read the book, but I bet it is long. To compress a book in an hour and a half the audience only gets an idea of the event. I love the part with Grandpa John and when he speaks with his father and the answer is that John does not leave anything behind. God bless him and his character. I have no idea what I would do in that situation. I give it a 6 out of 10. The DVD film Faith of My Fathers left me searching for more. I think I'm going to read the book after finishing one of my major. |
| I was not surprised, however, surprised by the treatment he received Senator McCain during his 5 years as a POW. I thought the Faith of My Fathers War moves rather in the fact how the military can prepare their own mentality of "keeping" the survival and fighting the brainwashing that tactic. I was surprised, however, wonder why the Vietnamese did not just shoot him and other prisoners of war ...... why not leave it when given a chance? I think it should have been more movies like this shortly after completing "the conflict" to show the American people more in-depth treatment of our herons. With this said, which I think has been more open, understanding and welcoming arms to get home reached our herons. I thank each of them in prayer every day :-) |
