| Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil was one of the best "Spacey" movies I've seen yet, surpassing almost everything, except maybe American Beauty. I've seen the movie: Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil several times, so, by the book and CD (all I need is a statue:)). For me, the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil film was much better than the book, but it could be because I've seen the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Crime film first. I found the image of Savannah to be charming, enticing me visit. The image of people is even more charming and funny. Personally, I found the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Crime movie everything related in the book and the link between the courtroom and was solid voodooism. Kevin Spacey became Jim Williams. My favorite line is where you go to Joe Odom Jerry Mandy has given after his haircut at one of its parts, something like let me introduce you to the "future ex-Mrs. Odom." In general, this is a great, wonderful and magical movie. Whoever did the casting outdid himself. And if this is the bush, I can not wait to visit! |
| Long, but produced beautiful, intriguing and entertaining adaptation of John Berendt's bestseller based on the facts about Savannah, Georgia high society, cosmopolitan and disbelief that is involved in the murder of a man hustler. In the lead, Kevin Spacey does not use or actorly stereotypes swishiness Twitch and John Cusack (as the nervousness out of town journalist who tracks the cases) is fantastic and for different reasons (Spacey exudes sexual mystery, while Cusack is a hit innocent). The Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Crime is an oddly cheerful mix of eccentric characters, decadent atmosphere, and theaters. Sometimes it's heavy (with talky passages), but has been directed (by Clint Eastwood, of all people), with amazing inspiration. Eastwood real-life daughter Alison is a very attractive and sensual singer, and several other shows (especially The Lady Chablis, Jude Law, Jack Thompson and raffish) are also very good. ** 1 / 2 **** |
| John Cusack plays John Kelso, a writer from New York is going to Savannah, Georgia to meet with Jim Williams (Kevin Spacey), a rich Socialite and art connoisseur who likes to give expensive parties. While in Savannah, Kelso gets involved in murder, voodoo, and some eccentric characters. Kelso is a convenient plot-in-foot John Berendt, author of the nonfiction book on which the screenplay for the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Crime is based. With the intriguing title of the movie, perhaps I was expecting too much. I really do not know what director Eastwood is trying to say here. The Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil film was disjointed cluttered with subplots, including a murder and subsequent trial, a romance, a character study of Williams, a parade of strange characters largely irrelevant to other subplots, a journey of a city in the South, and some voodoo thrown in. The acting ranged from good (Kevin Spacey) to quite mediocre for the poor. Photography and production design adequate. This Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Crime movie has entertainment value for fans of Kevin Spacey. But the story itself lacks focus, and took no part. In fact, the ending is ambiguous, a kind of irritating way. The main problem of "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" is arguably its rationale. Why is this done? Just because a Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Crime film is based on a real event does not guarantee a favorable outcome of cinema, especially if the script for the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Crime movie digress significantly from its source. Best direction that has helped a lot, like a complete rewrite of the screenplay, based on a premise more cohesive. |
| This DivX Movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is very entertaining. He was transported to another world and makes you feel sorry to leave it in the end. The plot is intriguing, the characters are eccentric, and the dialogue is smart. Most of the reviews here mention the differences with the book - some even devote their entire entry as a "difference of reference" to discredit this film. I do not care! The book is based on true events, and the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil film is based on the book - but that does not mean it has to be a perfect line by line account of the literary version! This website is dedicated to the enjoyment of movies, not books. The book can be great, I do not know ... I have not read! I happen to love movies and I love this. Go read the book if you love books. |
