| Longfellow Writing (Adam Sandler) is an owner of a pizzeria in a small town who inherits a fortune of forty million dollars from a distant relative. He moved to New York, where he is chased by the press, seeking information about the new millionaire in the U.S.. A tabloid reporter (Winona Ryder) is close to him to obtain inside information and guess what? Fall in love with him. Although a predictable plot, this movie: Mr. Deeds is good family entertainment. Adam Sandler performs his usual role of a naive and good boy. Winona Rider is very beautiful in this film. I'm a fan of it, but I do not remember him as beautiful as in "Mr. Deeds". "Mr. Deeds" is a fun DivX Movie Mr. Deeds that deserves to be seen and with a good and positive message in the final. My vote is seven. | Everyone associated with the production of this value is due to an apology to the author of the original short story and the great writer, Robert Riskin. When the original figure of wit, wisdom, good acting credible situations, etc, etc, etc, this empty vessel of the DVD movie Mr. Deeds scores crudeness crudeness without a trace of humor. Do not waste a minute in this travesty. |
| SR abroad. DEEDS another remake seems predictable, with absolutely nothing new to offer. On the inside, is correct. It has next to no substance, no creativity, to the point where you can predict the fate of the whole DivX film Mr. Deeds a quarter of the way in my best friend and I did and was not surprised. But we did enjoy the film. The characters are all a delight, in an infantile form. And it does have its moments. Multi-millionaire magnate dies, leaving his nephew, the great fortune. Adam Sandler is repeated many things he did in other films, with different characters, situations, etc, but for a remake, this one is quite good and better output of the star against LITTLE NICKY. The new version of Space Oddity was nice, if not from left field. A good tenant, but may not appeal to everyone. |
| My verdict on this Mr. Deeds Comedy film is the worst Adam Sandler DVD film Mr. Deeds I've seen so far. I really believe an Adam Sandler fan or not. Films like Waterboy and Happy Gilmore were good movies that had a decent story, good jokes, and above all, the characters are unique and likeable (even the bad). But this story seems to be no great effort made. The story is weak, and the little peculiarities that each character has Sandler seems to be there just for the sake of putting it there (saying "wicked - crazy" or "bad-awesome" gets in your nerves after a while). The frost-bitten feet and greeting card writing dreams are stupid. The characters are also very weak. Wynona Ryder is bad when it comes to being funny. She really was not funny at all. I guess it was Drew Barrymore recreate the kind of role that a character not normally think of a Mr. Deeds Comedy film comedy plays a main character. The only thing I think I liked about this Mr. Deeds Comedy movie was when the whole city is Corvettes. Overall I think this Mr. Deeds Comedy film was very bad and it was not shown a great effort for this movie. Casting was very wrong. peace! |
| The only comedy I remember seeing Adam Sandler's "Anger", which was quite horrible. I know that one should not be anything profound in his films and his type of comedy is not particularly attractive to me. For some reason, I do not know what, I decided to see "Mr. Deeds." Perhaps he expected me to laugh a little. You should have seen "Spaced" instead (which was the original plan). The DVD movie Mr. Deeds really drags in the first 45 minutes and the "comedy" is not funny. The chemistry between the lead couple is unconvincing. The whole romance angle is quite boring. Sandler seems to be playing a "best" version of himself. Winona seeing the comical appearance in the TV series' Friends', I would have expected better from her. However, it seems really uncomfortable in the first coil (ironically the film: Mr. Deeds was only after the trial against him) and hams in the last half. Torturro John and Peter Gallagher are quite good in their roles. I really enjoyed Torturro Sandler and shared scenes. Conchata Ferell was fun too. It might be a wise decision to do something else unless you absolutely have nothing better to do. |
| "Mr. Facts" tells the fictional story (although I suppose that could happen in real life) of the Hick Longfellow Deeds (Sandler, stretching himself and played a lovable goofball) who inherited billions of dollars from an uncle distant. To seal the deal must go to New York to do the paperwork. While here we discover that some people are mean and try to take advantage of people. Facts that is screwed on the left with nothing? Watch to find (or see another Sandler movie, and take a wild guess). It has its moments, and has some great scenes and lines, but it is not Oscar nominee (this was later when he was nominated for an Oscar). Some great work by the supporting cast, including Steve Buscemi and John Turturro. Not bad, some good laughs that it was extravagant. |
