| I took all the trouble of registering IMDb myself the only one to notice about this horrifically bad movie. Really that bad! Do not see it! There is nothing even humor in the way this Assault on Precinct 13 film sucks. It's just a high-budget failure. The plot and the characters are paper thin. Characters are briefly introduced: a drunk police (anyone seen Die Hard?), Retiring police, murderer, gangster cops, horny secretary (whose boobs did not even show) ... The reason for the construction site is in maybe two sentences. All events in the DVD film Assault on Precinct 13 are incredible. Snipers to lose almost a sitting duck in the open, a police station in the middle of nowhere in a big city, no one will notice the fire, flames and smoke. What about a guy shooting his gun and hitting the target while walking? I tried that in the army and not going well. And the snow is not real! I made mention of the action yet? Is boring. A man killed with an icicle! Perhaps the director had not seen Die Hard 2 ... Pity that no one pays me a penny, even to see that. Too bad that the screenwriter, producer, director and cast for making this film. I will not brag about it on my CV. I wonder if the original movie: Assault on Precinct 13 was better. |
| Major, gaping, glaring, sucking plot holes. The only thing I hate worse than a bad movie, it's a bad Assault on Precinct 13 Crime movie that easily could have been good. This is a brilliant example. The basic premise is good, installation is done well, the characters are interesting, the acting is competent. And the thing is so full of plot holes as the building site at the end of the film. A little more thought, a little less laziness and "Hey, stupid Assault on Precinct 13 film not notice," and could have been a very good (if maybe a little formula) film. |
| If you're reading this, then maybe it's not too late. Not seeing this movie. Is a waste of precious time. Stereotyped characters (the black guy who "did not nuthin '," the old-time, etc.), poor plot development, which is pure stupidity (you need a rocket scientist to understand them that the back door is a vulnerability ), etc. This brings in a bad remake. The original movie: Assault on Precinct 13 was credible. I really thought it could happen. This is just a ridiculous. Even with some degree of suspension of disbelief, yet it is quite ridiculous that the length of a group of veteran police officers armed to the teeth are going to start a bunch of people. I was bored halfway through the film, because it simply was not "done" anything. Combine this with what an action movie: Assault on Precinct 13 and you have a problem. Do not waste your time. Rent the original. |
| Why remake the original "Assault"? I see "Assault" was a carpenter true masterpiece. It had all the good films that contain Carpenter. External threat of a small group of individuals. People who take the challenge because they are forced to do so. Isolation! Just remember, the guns do not sound original carpenter, so much more threatening than conventional devices. And now this remake. Focus on "character I" s in psychology and its relationship with the lead II (the evil but honorable). The anonymous threat in Carpenter's film, replaced by a rather conventional conspiracy / corruption in the background. The remakers "simply does not understand the main plot of the original. And, therefore, produces something quite common. |
| Now, before you criticize me, I've never seen the original version of John Carpenter in this movie. Being a big fan, I should see, and after watching this remake, I will definitely find the original to see if it is as good as this movie. I had a blast! New Year in Detroit, a cold winter morning as District 13 is preparing to close its doors and moved to a new building. There are only three people in the building on New Year's Eve, and as a storm approaches, a criminal being transported to a maximum security area off to the desert. There are only a few other people who want to get closer to the villain. Excellent and very interesting story, both Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishbourne this measure over the edge. Some people may find the ultra-violent movie, but violence on the big screen never bothered me, so I enjoyed it very much! Definitely worth a look for action fans, and fans of the original that are curious. However, those who are disturbed by the violent images, wants to get away from this movie. |
| I am a big fan of the original Assault on Precinct 13. The ice cream scene haunts me to this day. I am now 33 and still remember to be horrified by it as a child. When I heard they were remaking it, I thought it would be good, but when I saw the movie, it is 100% is not the same movie. It is not a remake. It is a bad idea stolen. It was completely ruined. The cast, Maria Bello, Laurence Fishburne, Ethan Hawke, Gabriel Burne, John Leguizamo and Drea de Matteo are all great players, but still can not save this movie. It was bad. Even the setting was completely opposite. And how in hell was not there a warning that a war in next door? Why not help first appear? Stupid. Nonsense. |
