| Well, I've seen this movie, expecting to be rolling in the aisles ... how I was wrong. The Evan Almighty Fantasy was moderately entertaining at best and at worst, irritating (the slapstick comedy style of building an ark with archaic tools, no ... I do not laugh). I am very disappointed because Steve Carrel was the lead. I religiously watch the U.S. cracks me immensely, I thought Virgin was good 40 years ... But Matthews' ELP us on earth, why not accept that this script. And, Morgan Freeman, who is old enough to know better. Thus, the idea seems reasonable that the players had faith in everyone, but the performance was nothing to write home about and the final, so it seems as if they had run out of money or ideas. This to me is one of the best endings I could have imagined contributed. They took a biblical story and dumber than a tale of caution about local environmental problems, even the world's problems, but a bill - yawn! In short, reasonable start, gradually got worse and, for me, it was washed by the time the credit rolling. |
| With a cast of talented comic actors like Steve Carell, Lauren Graham, John Goodman and Wanda Sykes, I was expecting a laugh out loud comedy. Unfortunately, Shadyac 'Evan Almighty' offers only a few such moments. It simply is not enough and sometimes the comedy is a little too dramatic. Throughout the film, but only a few dialogues that are fun, as a result of players like Sykes and Graham does not have enough to work with the comedy. Carell reprises his role as the prequel to "Bruce Almighty", but this time it's a little more pleasant kind. In general, Carell does a good job but is more in 'Little Miss Sunshine', which brings the way of 'Evan Almighty' a notch, because this type of character not entirely the work of this type of Evan Almighty movie is to be blamed Shadyac not to do something better for something decent. But Carell is the only one who provides comic relief in spite of the limited quantity. Their interaction with the animals are amazing to watch. Morgan Freeman is more cheerful and more annoying in this. Lauren Graham plays the typical housewife and mother as well and their reaction to the transformation of Carell is excellent. Despite all its flaws, is the last half hour that lifts the film. And the drama builds up suspense very well and has a kind of adventure you feel. This entire sequence is very well executed. The soundtrack is well used and the songs are good too. Thus, despite its shortcomings, is still fun, but do not expect a laugh riot. |
| Do not think that just because this word is the Almighty in the title and Morgan Freeman returns in the role of God that is in anyway a sequel to Bruce Almighty. In the movie: Evan Almighty that Jim Carrey was in God. At least here we are to save the hassle of Carrey, but the kind of game Evan (AKA Noah) is completely unknown to me. The only familiar face in this Åre Freeman as God and John Goodman as Congressman Long, playing the bad guy and totally miscast in this role. It is obvious that someone had seen the bad borrowers and thought I had filled that role well. John is only too happy and always smiling to be taken seriously as a bad guy. His role could have been much better cast. Anyway, Evan is a congressman who wants to change the world for God in him the role of Noah. Build an ark to save the creatures and people. To cut a long story short what happens. God's miracles that happen to Evan, meanwhile, are pretty rubbish (even the style of Alfred Hitchcock The Birds parody). The DVD movie Evan Almighty and its plot are thin on the ground, the players are not known well enough and do not fill their roles very well (including Goodman and Freeman fight there.) The end is weak, and generally the whole Evan Almighty Fantasy film could have been much better. It is the only redeeming feature is the "need a bigger boat" gag. Leave until it is on DVD. |
| SPOILERS *** The problem is that the story has the potential to raise a lot of profound questions, which the filmmakers have done everything they could possibly avoid. God may star in the film, but God forbid the DivX Movie Evan Almighty has a real depth. One would think that God choosier about their roles. I'm sure he wishes it had not yet refused to cameo in Wings of Desire. His career has been on the rocks since. Anyway, the Almighty writers more time to get bird poop than they did watching his jokes weak environmental message. About half of development must have dawned on them that the story ends with a great flood that probably killed thousands of people, and their solution was simply not addressing the problem (the same was raised only briefly in Bruce Almighty, I am sure further that for a wide prat fall and Goofy Jim Carrey grimace). The story of Noah is not a happy ending people! The police simply makes the DVD movie Evan Almighty feel cheap and exploited and turned to religion weak and meaningless. In other words, everything that I hate Hollywood. If the DivX Movie Evan Almighty had no great ideas, just be a vehicle for entertainment and star Steve Carrell I be okay with it, but sitting there knowing what could be taken all the fun away. None of the issues, however, because we love the animals poop, right? And there is plenty of that. |
| I'm really enjoyed Bruce Almighty, but the minute I heard it was going to be a sequel without Jim Carey, I knew it was bad. While Steve Carell was hysterical in the first Evan Almighty film (the scene is a babble of my favorites), and in my opinion, deserves an Emmy for his role in the office, he is quite weak in this dull comedy. I am curious how much work they put the writers, because only then could do without the story. But even if we discard the huge plot holes (why do the lions and elephants to help when Evan is just flooding the Washington area) the movie: Evan Almighty is just ... not funny. I did not laugh once and for what I remember, a comedy is supposed to make you laugh. Or at least giggle. Not. However, there is little hope. Evan Almighty has "family" in everything and perhaps a family of display may be nice, (kids can be entertained by the variety of animals and silly jokes), but for me, Evan Almighty is simply not cut it. I give it a 4 / 10 and hope that Carell will be more careful in choosing her roles in the function. |
