| In Mississippi, the former blues man Lazarus (Samuel L. Jackson) is in crisis, the absence of his wife just leave it. He believes the town slut and nymphomaniac Rae (Ricci Chritina) dumped in the road near his farm, drugged, beaten and nearly dead. Lazarus brings her home, giving medicine and nursing, nutritional, and his father, keeping your chain to control its heat. When her boyfriend Ronnie (Justin Timberlake) is discharged from the armed forces because of their anxiety disorder, you do not understand the relationship between Lazarus and Rae, and tries to kill him. "Black Snake Moan" is a strange story of faith, hope, love and the blues. Christina Ricci's talent has an impressive performance in the role of a young drifter from childhood abuse by his father and having sex with all the people where they live. It's incredible versatility of this actress and this is probably the most mature I've seen Christina Ricci perform. Samuel L. Jackson also has an excellent performance in the role of Lazarus. | I knew that as soon as I saw the first trailer for Black Snake Moan which should see it. I was not disappointed at all in the film, which was written and directed by creator of Hustle and Flow by Craig Brewer. It tells the story of a broken man and the blues nymphomaniac which aims to cure not only for their sake, but also his own ... but it is much more than that. Is complex and rich, it manages to steep in a rough, sticky, muggy Memphis blue without making you feel you need a bath afterwards. The characters are (mostly), versatile and very well written and performed. The accents and dialogue were impeccably. However, there is a weak link in the chain: Justin Timberlake. The best thing I can say is that it can draw from mourn ... is a little male actor who can convincingly mourn. However, Justin Ronnie was flat, but as an actor who is trying very hard. Undoubtedly brings a new opportunity. Rae and Lazarus (Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci, respectively) have great chemistry and great respect for each other. This is one of those movies that no matter how good an actor is, if the other is not the task and, fortunately, both players were at the height. The music was so very good as expected, especially when Mr. Samuel L. Jackson sings the blues. Phenomenal. On the technical side, everything was brilliant in that I could see. It is well edited, well shot and well mixed ... everything was great. The character and set designs were fair, the cast of characters (including Justin Timberlake, and especially Kim Richards) was in place ... Loved it. |
| I just saw this DVD film Black Snake Moan at the premiere of Atlanta (2/14/07) and it was fantastic. Craig left for a short session of Q & A and then was very nice. The cinematography is lush, there is no other way to describe it. It is absolutely captured the small town in the South in terms of feeling, seeing this Black Snake Moan Drama film was like being there. It is sometimes difficult to divorce the great names of characters and see the actor as the character he / she is supposed to be playing, but not in this movie. In no time Jackson, Ricci, and even had me believing Timberlake. In short, a superb effort and one I recommend. |
| I have my room and tickets to a screening I guess you would call in Atlanta, GA Atlantic Station. Walking in I was expecting something controversial, provocative, unnecessarily exaggerated, and so on. But the DVD movie Black Snake Moan is much more than that. It is a story of two people help each other. It is no exaggeration, and the DivX Movie Black Snake Moan is done in a careful balance in order not to cringe or say its unnecessary. It's really well together and does not take itself too seriously. That is the beauty of it. If you tried to take itself seriously, which have failed miserably, but instead it carries through humor (some unintentional) and some surprisingly good for Ricci. Although Timberlake miserably in their role, the DVD movie Black Snake Moan is good enough for you to put that on the side. I would recommend this film: Black Snake Moan if for no other reason than the fact that it is something different to experience. |
